AI marks a turning point in the evolution of the educational ecosystem. The analysis of a work now extends beyond the pages of the book. AI supports creative exploration, but meaning, interpretation, and validation remain deeply human. In some classrooms, podcasts entirely designed with the help of AI bring fictional characters to life and extend analysis far beyond the initial reading.

In research projects, the transformation is even more striking. Students produce short explanatory films to popularize scientific or historical concepts, thereby mobilizing complex skills: scriptwriting, narrative structuring, image selection, editing, and argumentative coherence. AI provides support by reformulating and organizing ideas, while preserving what matters most: understanding, prioritizing, and interpreting.

Creation then becomes a genuine lever for higher-level learning, activating skills situated at the top of Maslow’s hierarchy.

On-demand differentiation

One of AI’s most concrete contributions to educational creation lies in pedagogical differentiation. The same concept can be explored through visual, auditory, or narrative explanations, or even in the form of simulated interviews. Each learner can thus appropriate knowledge according to their immediate needs and preferred way of learning.

Learning to speak to AI

A particularly revealing use can be observed in collaborative classroom challenges focused on the art of crafting effective prompts — what is known as prompt engineering.

Starting from the same topic, students refine their requests, test different formulations, collectively analyze variations in the results, and adjust their instructions.

This practice develops a nuanced understanding of the central role of language in AI prompts, of generation mechanisms, and of the limits of the models. It paves the way for ethical AI education, positioning AI both as an object of study and as a pedagogical tool, while strengthening metacognition and critical thinking.

From consumption to creation

These integrations are transforming education systemically. School is no longer perceived as a simple site of content transmission, but as a laboratory for pedagogical innovation.

Learning takes shape, ideas circulate, and visions become tangible. Readings turn into journeys through time, encounters with characters and worlds accessible at one’s fingertips. Concepts take form; knowledge becomes operational. Learning is now experienced as an immersive journey.

From candle to lightbulb

The integration of AI in education echoes the arrival of the lightbulb in its time: a paradigm shift. Some still insist on lighting by candle, out of attachment to earlier models or uncertainty about its ethical and pedagogical integration. Yet AI does not replace human intelligence. It extends its reach, pushes back the boundaries of imagination, and opens creative spaces capable of stimulating engagement and giving learners the personalized momentum they need to take flight.
